Book Page Art from 100 year old poetry book
I.
its been more than 3 months since my last resin project. It's the second photo : a poem from a vintage poetry book anthology, e.e. Cummings Spring is a Perhaps Hand. Its something I'd hang proudly in my own studio. I poured 100 milters (half and half) for the first layer. I used tape to laminate the 123 year old page. I smeared modpodge on the edge to seal it even more (to prevent resin from seeping into the poem) and waited for the resin to get a little tacky before adding the paper.

For the first time, I'm using forget-me-nots. I hope they dont discolor, I noticed a periwinkle petal turned green from the resin but it was too late. I already put the forget me nots in.
I really hope it doesn't look too bad. I had to do some art because I've been missing crochet so much.
II.
It's been a week since I updated, it took that long to add the final layer. I also felt like using the color blue, so I added blue glitter to my last mixture.
I'm sad that the rose petals and butterfly are facing the wrong sides; but to be kind to myself, both sides look pretty.
The poem is Lullaby by Lord Tennyson, because my sister's baby boy was born last week. I also thought it sounded like a song, which is what makes Tennyson so great - his poetry is melodic. How appropriate for a poem titled "Lullaby" to sound like a lullaby.
